Setting Up Your Guest House Information
As a new Angelfish B&B Manager user, you will find that the main screen contains two example rooms, one example guest but
no booking information. The first thing you need to do is add your Guest House information, including the rooms that you wish
to manage. The easiest way to do this is through the
Quick Setup screen.
Quick Setup
To access the quick setup, select
Help > Quick Setup from the top menu. This displays the
Quick Setup screen, which allows
you to enter any or all of the following information:

The name, address and proprietor of your establishment. This information will be shown on invoices and registration
forms that B&B Manager generates for your guests.

Your financial year start and end date, currency you work in (pounds, dollars or euros) and whether or not you are VAT registered.
This information will be used when recording payments and expenses, showing turnover and profit and generating periodic accounts
and VAT reports.

The name, type, number of beds and pricing for each room in your establishment. This information will be used to calculate
room availability and, when creating and editing booking information, to calculate the cost of each booking. To add a room
to the system, enter the room name, type, bed spaces, whether or not the room has child facilities and the room price, then
click on Add Room. To edit the details of a room you have already added, highlight the room in the list, then enter
the new information in the boxes and click on Update Room. To remove a room, highlight the room in the list and click
on Remove Room.

Pricing
Room prices in B&B Manager can be set as
per night or
per person per night (PPPN). For rooms with
a per night rate, the price of a booking will be calculated as the number of nights multiplied by the price, regardless of how
many guests occupy the room. For rooms with a PPPN rate, the price of a booking will be the number of nights multiplied by the
number of guests in the room multiplied by the PPPN rate.
As well as the basic room rate, you can also specify a single occupancy rate (for rooms with more than 1 bed space), a Friday/Saturday
supplement and supplements for placing extra adult beds and/or child beds in the room.
Adults & Children
B&B Manager defines an adult guest as anyone who occupies a normal bed and a child as a guest who occupies a cot or
special bed, not part of the standard room. The children option in the Quick Setup allows you to specify, for each room, whether
this special facility (e.g. a cot) is available. Where child facilities are available you can specify a child supplement.
